Resident Care Aide Program

Make a positive difference in people's lives. This 23 week program includes extensive hands on training in labs at our school and on site at long term care facilities.

Next class starts April 5 , 2010 ... go to work in September 2010 !!

At our school, you can expect SMALL classes, PERSONAL support, and GREAT instructors.

You will be trained to provide care and support services to clients and their families in many different settings ... residential facilities, group homes, private residences and community facilities. You will learn to assist people with the activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, hygiene, medications, restorative activities and home management.

The program includes supervised field training where you will gain real world experience in applying the knowledge and skills you learned in the classroom environment.

Students also receive job search training to help them find work upon graduation.

Thompson Career College is committed to offering programs of the highest possible quality at a reasonable cost.

Our Resident Care Aide program is built on a curriculum developed by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC), and all of our students take the NACC certification exam as part of our program.

Residential Care Aide and/or Home Support Worker program graduates may be eligible for reduction of their B.C. student loan by up to $2,500 through StudentAid BC .  Click on this >LINK< for more information on the program.
